The latest data from Grand View Research shows that global spending on robots is expected to grow by a CAGR of 10.5% and reach $USD60.6Bn by 2030.
Driving this growth are:
* Large increases in the use of Collaborative Robots (Cobots) with their ease of use and flexibility
* AI and Machine Learning, which improves process optimisation and predictive maintenance
* Advanced Sensors and Vision Systems allowing for more precise operation
* IoT technology,y which is being used to connect robots with other devices and systems in real time
* 3D printing integration with Robots to streamline manufacturing processes.
It’s critical that NZ lifts its productivity performance, which is poor by international standards, by using more industrial robots in our manufacturing operations.
If we don’t rise to this challenge we will be left behind and not be able to foot it with our international competitors and have to accept a lower standard of living.
Not a good outcome.
